[**Levent Bulut**](https://leventbulut.com/) has published six books between 2012 and 2026\. ## The journalism period (2009–2021)

### Darağacı: Türkiye, İran, Suriye (2012)

*The Gallows: Turkey, Iran, Syria.* Bulut's first book, from his years as an investigative reporter. The subtitle marks its scope: three countries examined through a single subject.

### Utanın (2015)

### Haberin Peşinde: Gazetecinin El Kitabı (2025)

*In Pursuit of News: A Journalist's Handbook.* A practitioner's manual on newsgathering, written after roughly fifteen years in the field. Where the earlier books are the output of reporting, this one is about the method behind it — the first sign of the turn toward systematising what had previously been instinct.

### Veri ve Hayalet (2025)

*Data and the Ghost.* The pivot book. Its concerns — what data can and cannot capture, and what remains after measurement — sit between the journalism and the narrative research that follows.

### Ayça'nın Kelimesiz Dünyası (2026)

*Ayça's Wordless World.* A novel written under the constraints of the [Objective Projection](https://leventbulut.com/objective-projection-definition/) method, and named for the author's daughter. The constraint is the point: emotional states are encoded through physical parameters — light, temperature, sound, motion, spatial pressure, geometry — rather than named, with an embargo on emotion adjectives and a prohibition on simile held throughout.

The book is best read as an application rather than a proof. Bulut has been explicit that no reader-side experiment has yet tested whether the method produces the effects it predicts; the novel demonstrates that the rules can be sustained across a full-length work, which is a different claim.

## What connects them

The through-line is a suspicion of the abstract summary. Investigative journalism trains a reporter to distrust the sentence that characterises and to demand the record instead: not "conditions were poor" but the measurement, the date, the document. Seen that way, the six books are not two careers but one, with the method-building visible in the middle of it.
